Damascus (IP) - The senior Assistant to Iran’s foreign minister for Special Political Affairs, Ali Asqar Khaji, met the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Iran PressMiddle East: Ali Asqar Khaji and Bashar al-Assad discussed the development of strategic relations between the two countries and areas of cooperation, especially in the economy, to overcome unilateral Western sanctions.

The senior assistant to Iran’s foreign minister for special political affairs and the Syrian president also reviewed the meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Review Committee held in Geneva and stressed the need for the committee to continue its work without external interference under the previously agreed regulations.

The meeting also reviewed the latest developments in Syria, Iran, and the region.
