The spokesman for Iran’s mission to the United Nations in New York said the US is not in a position to to assess whether Iran has made good on its obligations to the JCPOA.

Iran Press/America: In a Wednesday tweet, Alireza Miryousefi wrote: “Iran is still a participant member of #JCPOA ,but the US is not. It’s not up to the US to assess whether Iran has made good on its obligations.”

"Other issues were not part of the deal, and as a result, our defensive missile program is not up for negotiation," he added.

The spokesman for Iran’s mission to the United Nations made the remarks in response to the comments by the US Secretary of State Antoni Blinken in an interview with NBC News:

"He said the US is willing to return to compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, if Iran does and then work with U.S. allies and partners on a "longer and stronger" agreement encompassing other issues. Pressed about whether the release of detained Americans, which was not part of previous negotiations, would be an absolute condition for an expanded nuclear treaty, he did not commit."
