The South Korean government is making every effort to unblock Iran's monetary assets in its banks as soon as possible.

Iran PressAsia: South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister Choi Jong-Kun made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday.

In this telephone conversation, which was initiated by the Korean side, the issue of freeing Iran's monetary assets in the country was raised, and the two sides discussed effective mechanisms for allowing Iran to use its assets.

According to South Korean banks, about 10 trillion won ($ 9.2 billion) of Iranian monetary assets has been frozen in South Korean banks due to US sanctions.
