Iran-Turkey rail transportation

Tehran (IP) -Turkey's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has reported the signing of a draft agreement on transporting 1 million tons of cargo with Iran for 2021.

Iran Press/Asia: According to Turkey's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, the Turkish and Iranian railways representatives met in Ankara on January 12 and 13, during which a draft agreement was signed to start a new era in rail transport between the two countries.

The report added that Turkey and Iran managed to move 564,000 tons of cargo despite the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in 2020 by operating 3 trains per day; the doubled launching of transportation with 50 wagons through Van Lake has played an effective role in increasing the volume of transportation.
