Zarif:

Tbilisi (IP): Iranian foreign minister who is in the fourth destination of his visit to Tbilisi in the meeting with the President of Georgia said that we try to use regional frameworks to reduce tensions and to develop cooperation.

Iran Press/Asia: Mohammad Javad Zarif said to Salome Zourabichvili: "We must use the new conditions for cooperation in the region to ensure that war and conflict do not happen again in our region."

Referring to his previous visit to Georgia, he added that regional cooperation would be discussed besides bilateral relations.

He expressed hope that the obstacles to bilateral cooperation would be removed or reduced given the new international atmosphere.

Zarif and his Georgian counterpart also discussed the latest developments in bilateral relations and regional issues over the phone.

According to the General Directorate of Information and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, the latest situation in bilateral and regional relations was discussed during a telephone call between David Zalkaliani and Mohammad Javad Zarif.

"Mohammad Javad Zarif" headed a delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Georgia, and the Republic of Turkey on Monday this week.

Zarif arrived in the Georgian capital Tbilisi today at the fourth station. Ankara is the final destination of our Foreign Minister's regional visit.

The trip focuses on bilateral issues, the latest developments in the Caucasus, ongoing projects, and areas for the development of peace and stability in the region.
