Tehran (IP) - Iran's foreign ministry spokesman says that the Taliban political delegation in Tehran will talk with the Iranian officials including the foreign minister, over the peace in Afghanistan.

Iran PressIran News: In response to a question of Iran Press on the trip of Taliban political delegation to Tehran, Saeed Khatibzadeh noted that different dimensions of negotiations for reaching peace in Afghanistan will be discussed.

"Over the past few days, Iran's Special Representative for Afghanistan's Affairs has consulted with his counterparts in Russia and Germany, as well as the UN Special Representative for Afghanistan, on achieving peace in the country," the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

Khatibzadeh said that Iran's special envoy for Afghanistan also talked to the Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammed Haneef Atmar on Monday night about the Taliban political delegation in Tehran, adding that the realization of lasting peace and security in Afghanistan is important for Iran.

He stated that Iran has much invested in the realization of peace and security in Afghanistan, with the Iranian nation hosting the Afghan refugees for decades. 

The Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran wants a stable, secure, and peaceful Afghanistan so that Afghan people of all tribes can live in the light of security.
