Tehran (IP) - The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced the visit of a Taliban political delegation to Tehran.

Iran PressIran News: Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referring to the visit of the Taliban political delegation to Tehran headed by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, stated: "The delegation arrived in Tehran this morning (Tuesday) at the invitation of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was welcomed by Iran’s FMA officials."

Khatibzadeh added: "During their stay in Tehran, the Taliban political delegation will have meetings with Iranian officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif and the Special Representative of Iran for Afghanistan Mohammad Ebrahim Taherianfard, and will exchange views and is scheduled to consult on the peace process in Afghanistan and related issues."
