Tehran (IP) - Iranian President says Iran's COVID-19 vaccine called 'Pasteur' will be distributed next Iranian year.

Iran PressIran News: "We will do our best to start vaccination in the remaining months of the current Iranian year (starting on March 21)," Hassan Rouhani said during the meeting of the National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus on Saturday.

"The vaccine, co-produced by Iran and a foreign country, will be available next year under the name 'Pasteur', said Rouhani.

President Rouhani expressed his condolences on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Hazrat Zahra saying: “We do not have a lady higher than Fatemeh Zahra in the history of humanity, as her noble father was the greatest man, and we hope that we can all follow the path of the Prophet, the disciples of the Prophet and the sacred Imams."

Rouhani went on to explain further that the mourning ceremony of Hazrat Zahra (SA) as a tradition is going to be performed however this time through observing the hygienic protocols.

“We should not cause our own lives to be endangered, nor should we allow the lives of others to be endangered, both of which are obligatory,” the high-ranking official highlighted. 

"We are proud of the fact that we have been on the path of double-digit death for more than a week. However, the same digit is too much and we have to reach the zero point", Rouhani said.

He also praised the medical staff and officials and noted that they had done a great job and the people themselves followed all the protocols.
