Iran's oil reserves increase in Persian Gulf waters

The director of technical affairs of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) announced the increase of Iran's oil reserves in the Persian Gulf oil fields.

Iran Press/Iran News: Ali Khajavi said: "After studies conducted in 4 fields of Bahregansar, Hindijan, Nowruz, and Abuzar, which are all in the waters of the Persian Gulf, more than 740 million barrels of oil were added to Iran's oil reserves."

Khajavi added: "217 million barrels of oil can be extracted from these fields, which is equivalent to 10 billion dollars added to the value of extractable resources of the Iranian continental oil fields."

The director of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) technical affairs stated that this amount of oil could be extracted with current technologies, clarifying: “New drilling should be done and the necessary planning has been done in this regard.”
