Nakhchivan (IP) - The Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan and the Head of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic's Railway discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of rail transportation.

Iran Press/Iran News: Meeting with Iran's Consul-General in Nakhchivan Seyyed Ahmad Hosseini on Wednesday, the Director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic's Railway Mahir Aliyev pointed to the opportunities fostered after the end of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including the international communication routes, and said what has happened is in favor all of the region's countries including Iran and Nakhchivan. 

Aliyev stressed the with the completing routes in the region are launched, the volume of transit transportation through Iran will also increase and added: "Accordingly, trains in the region, including Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, will be connected to Bandar Abbas Port and the Persian Gulf via Iran."

He also appreciated Iran's stances in settling the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute and supporting the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan's Republic.
