Tehran (IP) - Iraq’s delegation headed by the country's minister of trade, met Iran’s minister of road and urban development on Tuesday.

Iran PressIran News: In this meeting which was held on Tuesday evening, Iranian and Iraqi officials exchanged their views over various economic and transportation issues.

At the end of the meeting, Ala Ahmad Aljabori told Iran press that Iraq’s delegation with representatives from its private sector arrived in Tehran, and technical and important meetings were held and more negotiations will be followed too.

Iran’s minister of road and urban development, Mohammad Eslami also said that the Shalamcheh-Basreh railway was discussed at the meeting with the Iraqi delegation, and important political steps will be taken by Foreign Ministers of the two countries to reach final agreements and begin operations.

"Regarding non stop transportation, since one of the merchants’ problems was that cargos are loaded on the boarder and they were damaged for this reason, we had fruitful discussion on this subject," Eslami added.

"Iraqi party in this regard said that there should be a balance, meaning that the same number of Iranian trucks moving in Iraq, Iraqi trucks can move in Iran too, so that we can sign agreements," he added.
