Tehran (IP) - Shadi Paridar, Vice President of Iran Chess Federation said that Iranian boys and girls' teams achieved good results in the chess championship of Asian universities.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an interview with Iran press on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the Asian Student Chess Championship held this morning at the National University Sports Federation of Iran, Shadi Paridar added: The Asian University Chess Championship held online, was a tight contest in which, Iranian boys and girls achieved acceptable results.

Also, Kimia Ghazi Sharif, the bronze medalist of the team of the Asian Students Chess Championship, said: "The tournament was held at a good level, and although the Iranian girls' team had a chance to win a gold medal, in the end, it was in third place."

According to Masoud Mosadeghpour, the Iranian boys' chess team coach, the shining of the Iranian chess players in the Asian Student Championship showed that Iranian chess could become champion in this field.

In the Asian Student Chess Tournament hosted by Iran, Khalil Mousavi from Iran won the individual gold medal.

The Iranian student boys team with Khalil Mousavi, Mersad Khodashenas, Bardia Veisi, and Sasan Ali Babaei stood in Asia's runner-up.

In girls' student chess, the Iranian team Vesal Hamedinia, Kiana Arab, Niki Nadernia, and Kimia Ghazi Sharif also won a bronze medal.
