Heroic and noble people of Iran,
Fellow Iranians,
Our sacred and beloved homeland, Iran, once again faced a criminal military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime. On the eve of Nowruz and on the tenth day of the holy month of Ramadan, they flagrantly violated Iran's territorial integrity and national sovereignty by launching an attack on a range of targets and defensive infrastructure, as well as civilian sites, across our country.
This renewed military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime occurs while Iran and the United States were engaged in a diplomatic process. Despite our certainty regarding the US and Zionist regime's intent to launch another military assault, we once again initiated negotiations to appeal to the international community and all nations to prove the righteousness of the Iranian people and demonstrate the illegitimacy of any pretext for aggression. The people of Iran are now resolute in their commitment to take all necessary measures to prevent war. We have been prepared for negotiations, and we are now even more prepared for defense. Iran will respond decisively to the aggressors.
The aerial attacks by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran constitute a violation of Article 4, Clause 2 of the UN Charter and a blatant armed aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Retaliation is Iran’s legal and legitimate right under Article 51 of the UN Charter, and the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will utilize all its capabilities and resources to confront this criminal aggression and repel the enemy’s malicious acts.
The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the critical duty of the United Nations and its Security Council to take immediate action to address the violation of international peace and security due to the blatant military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran. The Secretary-General of the UN, the President of the Security Council, and the members of the Council are urged to act promptly.
All member states of the United Nations, particularly countries in the region, Islamic nations, members of the Non-Aligned Movement, and all governments that feel responsible for international peace and security, are expected to unequivocally condemn this aggressive act and to take urgent and collective action to confront it, which undoubtedly poses an unprecedented threat to regional and global peace and security.
And now, at this historic juncture, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, inspired by the great heroic legacy of this land and with reliance on God Almighty, believing in the promise of divine victory, and drawing strength from national power, will not hesitate to defend our beloved homeland with unwavering faith.
History bears witness that Iranians have never surrendered to foreign aggression and domination; this time, the response of the Iranian people will be decisive and resolute, and it will compel the aggressors to regret their criminal actions.
