Iraqi PMU and security forces in separate operations dealt heavy blows to the remnants of the ISIS terrorist group in different provinces of the country.

Iran PressMiddle East: On Wednesday night, a statement by the Samarra Operations Unit at the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Organization said: "Based on accurate information, the forces of the 314th Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd Al-Shaabi) fired rockets at the ISIS gathering place in the  Hawijah Masirah area in the north of the city of Samarra, during which casualties were inflicted on ISIS elements."

At the same time, Sadegh al-Husseini, the spokesman for Diyala province in the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) organization, announced that in the second phase of the operation in the Havi al-Azim area in the north of the province, five ISIS hideouts were destroyed and 10 bombs were defused.

He added: "This operation continues for the second week in a row and so far has led to the establishment of security over more than 30 square kilometers between Diyala and Salah al-Din provinces."

In an interview with Iraqi media, Haidar al-Musawi, the head of the 26th Brigade of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi Organization), stated that Hashd al-Shaabi forces were able to inspect and clear 25 kilometers in the desert of Karbala province towards Anbar province at a depth of 50 kilometers.

In 2017, after three years of fighting, Iraq declared victory over the ISIS terrorist group, but its scattered elements and cells are still active in some areas of Diyala, Kirkuk, Ninawa, Salah al-Din, Al-Anbar and Baghdad provinces.

Iraqi security forces are working to completely clear these areas of these terrorist elements. 219
