Tehran (IP) - ‏‏The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced in her presser on Wednesday that in the past 24 hours, 153 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 54,156.

Iran Press/Iran News: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to December 23, 2020, 1,177,004 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 914,194 of the total infected people recovered, the Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She added that newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were 6,261 cases out of whom 1,075 patients were hospitalized.

5,419 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

So far, 7,201,567 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted.

Currently, 205 cities are in the orange zone, and 243 are in the yellow zone.
