Two Iranian books selected for Qatar Translation Literary Award

Tehran (IP) - Arabic version of two Iranian books won third place in the 5th session of the “Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding”.

Iran Press/Iran News: Arabic version of books on the History of Persian Literature, by Ahmad Tamimdari and the Literary History of Iran, by Abdolhossein Zarrinkoub won third place in the 5th session of the “Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding”.

The Literary History of Iran has been translated into Arabic by Sadeq Khorsha, professor of Arabic language and literature at Allameh Tabatabai University, and the History of Persian Literature translated by Basel Ahmad Adnavi, professor of Farsi language and literature in Damascus.

The Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding is a Qatari literary award for translation from and to Arabic. The total value of the award is $2 million. It is named in honor of Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the ruling Emir of Qatar from 1995 to 2013.
