Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced in her presser on Monday that 1,164,535 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 894,366 of the total infected people recovered.

Iran Press/Iran news: "According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to December 21, 2020, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 was 6,151 cases out of whom 991 patients were hospitalized," the Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She added that in the past 24 hours, 191 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 53,816.

5,519 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

So far, 7,097,556 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted.

Currently, 205 cities are in the orange zone, and 243 are in the yellow zone.
