Brazil reports 408 more deaths from COVID-19

Brazil’s health ministry on Sunday reported 408 deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll in the country to 186,764.

Iran PressAmerica: During the same period, another 25,445 cases were registered, bringing the national tally to 7,238,600. 

One of those who died on Sunday from COVID-19 was the 87-year-old actress Nicette Bruno. Bruno was one of the pioneers in television soap operas in Brazil.

A survey conducted by the Datafolha company, released on Sunday by the newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo, showed that 79 percent of Brazilians said they knew a victim of the pandemic, while 73 percent said the pandemic was getting worse.

The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 77,169,000. While 54,088,000 have recovered,1,699,000 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, has 18,267,000 cases. It is followed by India, which has 10,056,000 cases, Brazil (7,238,600).
