Pakistan and Iran share a 909-kilometer border and have close historical, cultural, and religious ties. Iran was the first country to recognize Pakistan on 22 August 1947. Their relationship has been marked by active engagement and frequent high-level visits between the two countries at all levels.
Bilateral trade currently totals around US$2.8 billion, with Pakistan exporting approximately US$684 million and importing US$2.1 billion from Iran.
