Tabriz (IP) - Following the coronavirus outbreak, nurses are among the most important people that are sacrificing themselves to fight against COVID-19, and their day-to-day efforts will remain in everyone's minds even after the coronavirus is eradicated.

Iran PressIran news: The birth anniversary of the first Infallible Imam of Shias, Imam Ali’s daughter Zainab (PBUH), has been registered in the calendar of the Islamic Republic of Iran as National Nurses’ Day.

In Iran, her birthday anniversary is recognized as National Nurses’ Day because she nursed children such as Imam Hussein's son Ali among others but also because of her taking care of those wounded in the Battle of Karbala.

Every year, this day is a reminder of nurses’ valuable efforts, which this year, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the role of nurses and medical staff is more prominent and vital, and the day is celebrated as National Nurses' Week throughout the country from December 16-22.
