Qasr-e Shirin (IP) - The governor of Qasr-e Shirin, Kermanshah Province, western Iran, said that since the start of the Iranian year (starting on March 21st), more than 1.2 billion dollars worth of goods have been exported to Iraq from the borders of Khosravi and Parviz Khan.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking on Friday, Morad-Ali Tatar said the amount of export has increased by 45% in terms of currency and 65% in terms of weight compared to the same period last year.

He added: “Sanctions have deprived us of the possibility of trading with the world economy for many years, and this is while our country's borders are an opportunity to improve the economic situation and help the current situation.”

The official stated that Khosravi and Parviz Khan borders are important borders of the country, which in the current situation has had a significant income for the country as well as traders and merchants.

The high representative of the government in Qasr-e Shirin said: "The round- the-clock operation of the official border of Parviz Khan is very important in the conditions of the enemy's sanctions, as well as the problems of Iraq and the coronavirus crisis, and this border has not been closed even for a day."

Tatar noted: "The efforts of all institutions and traders and investors active in this border have played a significant role in the country's economic turnover."                                                                           

He stated: "Currently, the comprehensive development plan of Parviz Khan is being implemented in this border. With the follow-up of the governor and customs, 74 billion Tomans have been allocated for the comprehensive plan, of which 50% has been attracted so far and the progress of this plan will help exports a lot."

He also noted the significant reduction in fuel smuggling and the settlement of traders at the border.
