A 3.5 meter crocodile in Tehran

There have been reports on social media about a alligator in Chitgar Lake, in the western part of capital Tehran, which has provoked reactions.

Iran PressIran news: The head of Tehran's environment department referred to the rumors of a three-and-a-half-meter alligator which was reportedly spotted in Chitgar Lake, saying: "It is said that there is a crocodile there, but no one can confirm the matter yet."

Ali-Akbar Effatmanesh, the executive vice president of the Chitgar Lake project, also said: "So far, there is no evidence that proves a trace of crocodiles in this lake."

Experts say that what is certain is that neither the alligator nor the alligator can survive in the water temperature of Chitgar Lake. If there is an alligator, it is likely to have been abandoned in the lake by people. Because crocodiles are kept as pets by some people, it may be left in the lake without permission.

As reported, if there is an alligator in this lake, it needs to hunt and be on land, which has not been observed in the last month.

The monitoring and investigation operations are going on around the clock.

The story began on Sunday when a picture of a living creature resembling a big lizard, an alligator fish, or an alligator in Chitgar Lake waters was shared by someone on social media.

The news persuaded the executive managers of the lake to close its district temporarily.
