Why it matters:
The operation marks one of Yemen’s most advanced missile attacks against the Zionist regime, escalating tensions as both sides trade strikes following the Israeli regime’s bombardment of civilian areas in Sana’a.
The big picture:
Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces, said the strike forced "usurping Zionists” into shelters and halted operations at Ben Gurion Airport.
The attack came just hours after the Zionist regime launched airstrikes on Sana’a that killed eight and wounded 142.
Israeli media, including Yedioth Ahronoth and Army Radio, confirmed that missiles were launched from Yemen, sirens sounded across Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and thousands sought shelter.
Explosions were reported in Jerusalem from missile interceptions, with flight activity at Ben Gurion temporarily suspended.
What he is saying:
Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces, said:
“The operation successfully hit its targets and caused millions of usurping Zionists to flee to shelters and halted activity at Ben Gurion Airport.”
“Our air defenses destroyed several of the enemy’s combat systems and intercepted part of their attacks.”
“We warn ships and companies operating in the area of operations that they must identify themselves, otherwise they will be targeted.”
“We will continue to carry out more operations with increasing intensity. Defending our country and supporting our brothers in the resistance in Gaza is our priority.”
Saree described the attack as “a victory for the oppressed people of Palestine and their noble fighters, and a response to genocidal crimes.”
