Tehran (IP) - Minister of Science, Research, and Technology stated that Iran has gained significant achievements in the research field, despite enemies' efforts to stop it.

Iran PressIran news: The honoring ceremony of selected research students and technologists held at the Education Ministry in presence of Minister of Science, Research, and Technology Mansour Gholami and Minister of Education Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei early morning on Saturday.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Gholami stated that Iran could meet the country's needs amid the coronavirus outbreak with nearly 105 Scientific-Technology centers and 47 Scientific and Technology Parks.

"Iran has met its professional scientific and educational needs and is no more dependent on foreign countries after the Islamic Revolution," Gholami noted.

"Iran stands beside scientifically developed countries and by their annual assessment it has developed significantly," the minister highlighted.

The senior official noted that it is necessary to increase students' self-belief and trust in order to develop the country.

"Iranian graduates are the source of serious improvements wherever they are in the world," the minster said.

Iran's Education Minister Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei also said that Iran has more than 600 research centers that help develop the country's scientific sectors.

Haji-Mirzaei stated that by increasing students' capabilities, the society will be developed too.

"Research is fundamental to solve the country's issues and problems; moreover, it helps increase national capacity and capability," he noted.

"Without research, life lacks quality; so Education Ministry plays an integral part to develop it," the minister added.

At the end of the ceremony, some of the selected researchers were honored.
