Iran, Serbia stress expansion of educational, research cooperation

Belgrade (IP) - Iranian Ambassador to Belgrade and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science, and Technological Development of Serbia stressed the expansion of cooperation in higher education and scientific research between the two countries.

Iran PressEurope: In a meeting between the two sides, Iranian Ambassador Rashid Hassanpour stated that the political will of the two countries oversees the development and promotion of relations in all fields.

Hassanpour noted that Tehran attaches great importance to the development of educational and academic cooperation, expressing hope that a comprehensive cooperation document in this field will be finalized and signed between Iran and Serbia soon.

Branko Ruzic also said that the process of implementing the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific-research activities of the two countries is underway, and it is possible to be signed in the near future.

Expressing the growing presence of Iranian students interested in studying medicine and dentistry in Serbia, Ruzic stated that Belgrade supports the continuation and strengthening of the Persian Language Studies Center and Persian Language Teaching at the Faculty of Linguistics of the University of Belgrade, and also welcomes reciprocal scholarships for students to continue their studies.

The two sides also underscored that Iran and Serbia, in addition to future plans on education, will pay specific attention to the exchange of researchers, professors, and inter-university cooperation in the future.
