Tehran (IP) - During a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said, "Countries in the region should work together to prevent the creation of new insecure and worrying centres."

Iran Press/Iran news: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who is visiting Tehran, met this afternoon with Ali Shamkhani, the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) secretary, to discuss bilateral issues and the latest regional and international developments.

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council said that the Tehran-Baku relations should be raised to the highest possible level, adding the completion of joint projects and the implementation of agreements between them and the start of new cooperation in various fields require more serious efforts.

The secretary of the SNSC expressed Iran's interest in participating in the reconstruction of war-torn areas in Karabagh.

Referring to the US, Zionists, and ISIS's vicious actions, Shamkhani called their presence in any part of the world, especially in the West Asian region, harmful.

He pointed to the atmosphere created by the media to make the citizens of the two countries pessimistic about each other and said: "It is necessary to stop such unconstructive and divisive actions."

During the meeting, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its principled policy towards the Nagorno-Karabakh crisis and praised Ayatollah Khamenei for his stance in support of ending the occupation and the crisis.

Referring to the determination of the two countries' leaders to develop and strengthen relations and cooperation between Tehran and Baku, he announced the Republic of Azerbaijan's readiness to improve the level of relations in various fields.
