Tehran (IP) - On the sidelines of a commemoration ceremony of nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in Tehran, the Venezuelan ambassador stressed his country's unity with Iran.

Iran PressIran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Venezuela's Ambassador to Iran Carlos Antonio Alcalá Cordones added: "I express my condolences to the Iranian government and people on behalf of the Venezuelan government and people, as well as on behalf of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro for the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh."

"Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was martyred by terrorists. They are trying to attack us because we decided to live independently," the Venezuelan ambassador noted.

Carlos Antonio Alcalá Cordones also said that the two nations of Iran and Venezuela are united as they have been for the past 20 years and during the presidency of Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro.

"As Mr. Chavez emphasized, Venezuela will always be on the side of friendship, peace, and unity with its friend," Carlos Antonio Alcalá Cordones highlighted.
