Israeli sources are reporting that the crews of the Handala vessel are on a hunger strike to protest the illegal actions and arbitrary detention by the Zionist regime.

The big picture:

The Handala ship set sail from the port of Siracusa in southern Italy on July 13, in a symbolic and humanitarian act aimed at breaking the Israeli regime’s siege of Gaza.

On Sunday (July 27), after the Zionist army attacked the ship and confiscated all its equipment and cameras, video communication with the vessel was completely cut off, and the people on board were arrested.

Details:

After being seized by the Israeli navy, the Handala was towed to the port of Ashdod, and its crews were arrested and handed over to the Israeli police after interrogation.

The flotilla was carrying 21 peace activists from 12 countries, including members of parliament, lawyers, journalists, union members, environmental activists, and human rights defenders.

The human rights group Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which is responsible for sending symbolic humanitarian aid to Gaza, stated that the Handalah carries a message of global solidarity with the besieged people of the region.
