Iran (IP)- Head of the Iranian Judiciary’s High Council for Human Rights met with German Ambassador to Tehran Hans-Udo Muzel to discuss the promotion of human rights interactions between the two countries.

Iran PressIran News: During a meeting with the German Ambassador to Tehran, Head of the Iranian Judiciary’s High Council for Human Rights, Ali Bagheri-Kani called on the German side to cooperate with the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to complete the case of the Quds Force Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani's assassination, and resolve ambiguities about the perpetrators.

Referring to the stances of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the people of Palestine and Yemen against the occupiers and aggressors and the Western support for the Zionist and Saudi regimes, Bagheri-Kani said: “The policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is based on human rights. On the contrary, Western human rights are political and have a political basis.”

He added: “The stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran on peaceful nuclear activities and missile capabilities is also rooted in human rights because the Iranian nation has the right to use its capabilities to enhance the country's scientific, technological and industrial capabilities to be able to defend its territorial integrity and national security, and ensure the progress of the country and national welfare.”

Referring to some political and media scandals about the arrest or punishment of dual nationals, Head of the Iranian Judiciary’s High Council for Human Rights Ali Bagheri-Kani stated: "Among the millions of Iranians living abroad who have dual citizenship, 40 have dealt with the judiciary in the last four decades who have been convicted and punished.”

Bagheri-Kani went on to say: "According to the Islamic Republic of Iran, dual citizenship does not cause any privilege for a person, nor does it cause any loss of his rights."

Referring to the confrontation between Westerners' human rights and the Islamic Republic of Iran, he noted: "The prerequisite for progress in human rights interaction and understanding is that Westerners must not look at human rights through political lenses."

Stressing that the lack of dialogue can turn simple ambiguities into serious differences, Bagheri-Kani called dialogue a wise and fruitful solution, adding: "Dialogue is for two parties who have different views to reach a common conclusion, but it is against the culture of dialogue for one party to rule before the dialogue; It is as if the judge issues a verdict before the trial.

He underscored: “The issuance of a human rights resolution is like the issuance of a verdict, and this is a serious obstacle to a constructive and fruitful dialogue. This obstacle was not created by the Iranian side, but by the other side, and it shows that the other side is not serious in the dialogue.”

Referring to the news of the use of the capacity of an American base in Germany (Ramstein Air Base) with the assassination of Lt. Gen. Soleimani, Bagheri-Kani called on the German side to cooperate with the Iranian Judiciary to complete the case and clear up any ambiguities about the perpetrators of Lt. Gen. Soleimani's assassination.

Following the meeting, the German Ambassador to Tehran, Hans-Udo Muzel, presenting his country's views on various human rights issues, stated: "We should try to better understand human rights issues through exchange of views."

At the end of the meeting, a volume of a book containing the names and details of 17,159 Iranian victims of the assassination along with the time, place and details of their assassination was granted to the German Ambassador to Tehran.
