Iran Press/Middle East: Commander of the Yemeni Army's Fifth Military Region Brigadier General Yusuf Hasan al-Madani said that the Yemeni Armed Forces have the experience, expertise, and military industry to build weapons that only the superpowers have.
According to the "26 September" news website, he stated at a commanders' graduation ceremony that despite the continuing aggression and siege of Yemen, the process of training and strengthening the commanders of brigades and battalions of the Yemeni Armed Forces continues.
"This shows our determination and insistence on achieving victory, and this is a divine blessing for which we are grateful," he said.
"The aggression and invasion of Yemen taught us that we must develop our capabilities and equipment and gain the necessary expertise. At the beginning of the attack on Yemen, we did not have drones or ballistic missiles. But today we have a strong and trained army and we have a lot of expertise and experience in modern warfare at all levels," al-Madani explained.
He noted that policies had weakened the military in the past, and foreign interference has been involved.
The commander pointed out: "At the beginning of the invasion, the enemy would occupy and dominate any region. But today that equation has changed. We are the ones who take back most of the areas from the occupiers and take control of them. It was our national responsibility to turn threats into opportunities and to work to liberate and cleanse Yemen from the filth of the occupiers and aggressors."
The Saudi-led Arab anti-Yemeni coalition invaded Yemen on March 26, 2015, to suppress the revolution in Yemen and prevent the Houthi movement from gaining power. US, UK, France, Germany, and some Arab countries have provided military and weapons support to the coalition.
Two months ago, the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights released statistics on the Saudi coalition's crimes against Yemen from March 2015 to August 2020, confirming the deaths of 16,771 civilians and the wounding of 26,359 others.
While the aggressor coalition in Yemen, which relies on its oil dollars, easily supplies the weapons it needs from Western countries, especially the United States, the Yemeni army and popular committees under siege, relying on internal capabilities, have been able to make a significant military leap in recent years, especially in the missile and UAV sectors. This has become a nightmare for the Saudis.
The coalition that claimed to end the war in its favor in a short time has been stuck in the swamp of the war for nearly six years.
