The assessment, cited by three informed sources, refutes claims by U.S. President Donald Trump, who asserted that Iran’s primary nuclear enrichment facilities were “completely and totally obliterated,” a claim he has repeatedly made since the operation.
The strikes targeted Iran’s Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant and Natanz Enrichment Complex. However, according to sources familiar with the assessment cited by CNN, the attacks did not fully eliminate the facilities’ centrifuges or Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
The evaluation is based on a battle damage assessment by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) following the strikes. Two sources confirmed to CNN that Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile remains intact.
