Iran-Afghanistan book fair opened in Mazari Sharif

Kabul (IP) - The Iran-Afghanistan Book Fair opened in Mazari Sharif with the participation of 30 Iranian and 11 Afghan publishers.

Iran Press/Asia: Mojtaba Nowrouzi, deputy head of the Center for International Cultural Studies of Islamic Culture and Communication Organization said the exhibition was held in Mazari Sharif and security threats are predicted for this eight-day exhibition. 

Mobina Saei, an Afghan media activist, appreciated the holding of the exhibition, noting that this exhibition is a good step in a situation where the Afghan society is in great need of books and reading.

She called for the cooperation of the governments of Iran and Afghanistan in cultural fields.

A month ago, the Iran-Afghanistan book fair opened at Kabul University, but on the opening day, Kabul University was targeted by a terrorist attack in which a large number of students were killed and wounded.
