COVID-19 death toll surpasses 50k in Iran

Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Saturday in her presser that 1,028,986 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and the COVID-19 death toll surpasses 50,000.

Iran Press/Iran News: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to December 5, 2020, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 reached 12,151 cases out of whom 1,562 patients were hospitalized, the Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari stated. 

She added that in the past 24 hours, 321 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 50,016 and 5,817 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

So far, 6,342,628 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted. Currently, 64 counties are in the red zone, 278 are in the orange zone, and 106 are in the yellow zone.
