US imposes sanctions on Iran after assassination of Martyr Fakhrizadeh

The US Treasury Department in a statement said that it had imposed sanctions on Shahid Meisami Group and its director one week after the Group's head was assassinated by Israel outside Capital Tehran.

Iran PressAmerica: The United States on Thursday imposed new Iran-related sanctions, blacklisting Shahid Meisami Group and its director as US President Donal Trump administration on its last months on office try to continue pressure on Tehran.

The US Treasury Department accusing the Shahid Meisami Group of what it says being involved in "chemical weapons research" and linked it to the Iranian Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research, which is blacklisted by Washington.

The move comes days after the assassination of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s top nuclear scientist martyr Mohsen Fakhrizadeh last week which Iran says Mossad is the main suspect as before which assassinated Iranian nuclear scientists.

Details of the assassination of the prominent Iranian nuclear scientist, which were received by Iran Press confirms the involvement of the Israeli intelligence service in his assassination including the Israel-made weapon used in the incident and the planning.

Shahid Meisami Group is working under "Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research organization (S.P.N.D) which its head, martyr Fakhrizadeh assassinated in recent days.

Shahid Meisami Group is a chemical engineering and research group that works for Iran's defense industries and works officially for Iran's Defense Industries Organization.

The Group attended the International Defence Exhibition in Iraq (IQDEX) in March 2017 and March 2016 and is associated with the Iranian Association of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. This group is also a member of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense and a scientist in the country's nuclear industry, was martyred on Friday (November 27th) in a terrorist attack around Tehran.
