IP- The Zionist regime faced the prospect of political chaos once again Wednesday when Israeli lawmakers approved a preliminary measure to dissolve parliament and the turbulent coalition government, putting it on a path to its fourth election in two years.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Knesset vote of 61 to 54 to advance the proposal marked another escalation of a political crisis that has left Tel Aviv with only a caretaker government for more than a year and a largely dysfunctional coalition during the mounting coronavirus pandemic and accompanying economic collapse.

War Minister Benny Gantz's Blue and White party - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's governing partners - voted in favor of dissolving the government, accusing the prime minister of putting his own legal interests over those of the country.

Netanyahu was charged earlier this year on counts of fraud, breach of trust, and accepting bribes and will start appearing in court for his trial next month.
