Joe Biden, who is projected by the US media to be the next president, will receive first presidential intelligence briefings on Monday, his office says.

Iran PressAmerica: On Tuesday, the White House gave approval for Biden to obtain the president's daily intelligence reports as part of the process of power transfer, authorized by the General Services Administration (GSA).

Democrat Joe Biden will receive his first presidential intelligence briefing on Monday, his office confirmed in a statement on Sunday, Sputnik reported.

While President Donald Trump has refused to concede to Biden, accusing Democrats of "rigging" the 2020 election in favour of their candidate, he has greenlighted the transition process, advising GSA head Emily Murphy and her team to "do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols."

The presidential daily briefing is a daily rundown of threats and intelligence developments compiled by the national security community for the US leadership.

Prior to the White House authorization, the Biden-Harris transition team had complained that Biden was not receiving daily intelligence reports, while the presumed president-elect had already held phone conversations with several world leaders. His transition aide Jen Psaki, now Biden's press secretary-to-be, said that they wanted access to the briefings so that they can "prepare to govern." However, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said that it would not contact Biden's transition team until the GSA ascertains Biden as the likely president-elect.

The President’s Daily Briefing has been offered to every president-elect since Richard Nixon in 1968, often the morning after Election Day. But that courtesy is extended by custom and is not required by law, and Trump’s refusal to concede defeat has put Biden nearly a month behind.
