Military option against Iran is off the table: IRGC cheif commander

Tehran (IP) - Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), said that the enemy is disappointed with Iran's military attack, and the war is off its agenda.

Iran Press/Iran News: Referring to the failure of the enemies in the military confrontation with Iran, Major General Hossein Salami, said: "The enemy has targeted the livelihood and health of the Iranian people."

"The Basij has stood in all areas to defend the high values of the Iranian nation under the command of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution," the top general emphasized.

General Salami also stated that the Basijis are not afraid of any enemy, noting that the Basijis will defend Iran until the enemies' destruction.

The Basij Organization of the Oppressed (Sazman-e Basij-e Mostaz’afin) was initiated by Imam Sayyed Ruhollah Mousavi Khomeini on November 25, 1979.

Established on April 30, 1980, the Basij was initially tasked with aiding the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps with restoring order and public services in the newly-created Islamic Republic, but quickly became an essential part of the defense forces during the 8-year-long imposed war with Iraq, which is also known as the Sacred Defense.

Today, Basij is more than a defense force to deal with severe threats, and by introducing comprehensive and multi-purpose capabilities and potentials, it serves as the great capital of the Islamic Revolution to thwart hard, semi-hard conspiracies and soft warfare of enemies, untying the knot of various problems and challenges.
