Ilam (IP) - Director-general of Ilam Province's customs announced the export of 80,000 tons of Iranian agricultural products to Iraq.

Iran PressIran news: The Director-General of Customs in Ilam Province Ruhollah Gholami stated that more than 80,000 tons of various agricultural products worth $37,725,000 have been exported to Iraq from the Mehran international border in the last eight months.

Gholami noted that the export amount shows a 24 percent growth compared to the same period last Iranian year.

He added that food items, plastic products, glassware, car parts and products, steel, ceramics, tiles, and construction materials are among the items exported by Iranian traders from Mehran customs to Iraq.

The border city of Mehran in the southwest of Ilam is the most important and main route for cars and trucks carrying export goods, and vehicles transferring pilgrims to the holy shrines of Shia Imams in Iraq.
