Iran Press/ America: The resolution, passed by the Third Committee of the United Nations Commission on Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs, was approved by an overwhelming majority with 163 votes in favor, 5 against and 10 abstentions.
The resolution reaffirms the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right to an independent state. In addition, it calls on all countries, agencies and organizations affiliated with the United Nations to support the Palestinian people and to work with them to achieve their right to self-determination as soon as possible.
The resolution also emphasizes the need to end the Israeli occupation as soon as possible.
