The Special Envoy of Iran's Foreign Minister for Afghanistan, Mohammad Ebrahim Taherianfard, met with Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR), in Kabul, Afghanistan.

 Iran Press/ Asia: The High Council of National Reconciliation of Afghanistan said the two sides discussed the ongoing Doha peace talks, the importance of a regional consensus in support of the peace process, and relations between the two countries.

The Iranian embassy in Kabul announced on Tuesday that Mohammad Ebrahim Taherianfard, Iran's special envoy for Afghanistan, had arrived in Kabul to discuss recent developments in the region with senior Afghan government officials.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the start of negotiations between the government of Afghanistan and the Taliban to see stability in Afghanistan as an integral and permanent part of Iran's policy toward this Asian country.
