Senior adviser to the leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran:

Tehran (IP) - Ali Akbar Velayati, Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, referred to the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh and said Iran shares a border with Azerbaijan, Armenia, and part of the territory of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan, therefore, it is logical for Iran, as a neighbor of Azerbaijan and Armenia, to take the issue seriously.

Iran Press/ Iran news: The Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening added: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei stressed that the international borders should not be undermined and believes that the leading cause of all conflicts is the rupture in the international borders that should be considered.

"Also, we believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s national security will not be possible without neighboring countries’ security and peace," he emphasized.

"The people of Azerbaijan can liberate their country on their own, and the presence of Wahhabi and Takfiri terrorists in the north of Iran's borders will fail," he said.

Velayati also added: "The remarks of the Leader regarding the Caucasus are the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this region and must be fully implemented."
