Flights launch between Qeshm Island, Afghanistan, Turkey

Qeshm (IP) - The deputy head of the Qeshm Island Free Zone in southern Iran announced the launch of a flight route between the Qeshm Island, Afghanistan, and Turkey in the near future.

Iran PressIran news: "According to the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the development of international flights from Qeshm Island, the launch of three round-trip flights to Kabul and Herat in Afghanistan and Istanbul, is on the agenda," said Morteza Sheikhzadeh, deputy head of Iran's Qeshm Island Free Zone.

Sheikhzadeh added that more than 10,000 Afghan nationals living on Qeshm Island had applied to the Qeshm Free Zone Organization to launch a flight from Qeshm to Afghanistan, which was approved by the organization.

Qeshm Island is located in Hormozgan province and is the largest island in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

Imam Khomeini Airport City and Qeshm Airlines began a new aircraft hangar project for Qeshm Airlines with 16,000 square meters, said the Managing director of Imam Khomeini Airport City (IKAC), IKAC News reported on February.
