Cuban President supports Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy

In a virtual meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister, the Cuban President reaffirmed his country's opposition to US sanctions and actions against the Iranian people, as well as Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy.

Iran PressAmerica: According to Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif continued his meeting with Cuban officials via video conferencing with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister thanked Cuba for its support in the UN General Assembly and renewed the invitation of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In this video conference, good political relations between the two countries were also emphasized, and the existing capacities for the expansion of relations and economic cooperation between Iran and Cuba were mentioned.

The two sides also expressed readiness to cooperate in the development of vaccines, including the coronavirus vaccine.

Energy and oil cooperation between the two countries were other topics discussed by Zarif and the Cuban President.

Zarif also met with Cuban First Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas to discuss bilateral and inter-ethnic issues.

The two sides praised the good political relations and cooperation and coordination between the two countries in international forums and stressed the need to develop economic, energy, and trade cooperation between the two countries.

The use of each other's experiences in the fields of medicine, nanotechnology, science, medicine, and energy was also agreed upon.

The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Javad Zarif, arrived in Havana, Cuba's capital, on Friday to meet with high-ranking Cuban officials.

Zarif, on Friday, met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

Before he visited Cuba, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran arrived in Caracas on Wednesday, the first destination of his trip to three Latin American countries, Cuba, Bolivia, and Venezuela.
