Iran envoy stresses use of China's economic potential

Iran's ambassador to Beijing described the Chinese market as an opportunity to use its economic potential.

Iran PressIran News: Referring to the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE), Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh tweeted on Thursday, saying that China's economy is accelerating amid a severe economic downturn in the world.

Keshavarzzadeh stated that Iran has participated in the Chinese expo in two sections of industrial, technological, and handicrafts, culture, explaining that China's large market is a good opportunity for expansion of economic cooperation.

The third China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off today in Shanghai and will be continued to November 10 as scheduled despite the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. 28 Iranian companies have participated in the event, which has doubled compared to last year’s.

On Wednesday, the Spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, rejected any rumors about the Iran-China talks' suspension due to the US presidential election.

"The negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and China under the 25-year comprehensive strategic cooperation plan are being carried out seriously and have nothing to do with the election of any country, especially that of the United States," Khatibzadeh added.

The 25-year comprehensive strategic cooperation plan between Iran and China is one of the most important developments in the Middle East, which will not only deepen relations between the two countries but also can have a great impact on the quantity and quality of economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as trade relations in the Middle East.

On Thursday, the Iranian Consul General in Shanghai, Ramezan Parvaz, said that the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a hub for the cooperation of the regional economy with the rich's global economy and cooperation and the developing countries.

Speaking to China’s Global Times, Ramezan Parvaz said: “In CIIE 2020 we still managed to have 28 Iranian companies to participate in the third CIIE this year 15 companies are in intelligent industries like information technology, in this part the main product is Nanofiber technology. 13 companies in other sectors will exhibit products such as Persian carpet, pictorial carpet, herbal medicines, handicrafts, and foodstuffs.”
