UN calls on Israel regime to stop arbitrary detentions of Palestinians

The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process on Monday evening called on the Israel regime to end the arbitrary detentions of the Palestinian people.

The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process welcomed the efforts of the Fatah and Hamas movements to achieve national reconciliation and the holding of elections, describing it as an important step.

Meanwhile, some Palestinian youths sent incendiary balloons to the occupied territories to protest against the Israeli regime's continued aggression, especially against the captives and other prisoners, and the regime's non-compliance with agreements to calm the situation in the Gaza Strip

Earlier, Israeli media reported that sending fireballs from Gaza to border areas had set fire to several hundred hectares of occupied land and caused significant financial damage.

Maher Abdul Latif Akhras, a 49-year-old Palestinian prisoner, entered his 91st day of hunger strike.

The Palestinian prisoner went on an indefinite hunger strike to protest his temporary detention without being charged in the Israeli prison.

Palestinian legal sources reported the plight of the Palestinian captive.
