Iran Press/ Iran News: Bavar-373 indigenous surface-to-air defense system, for the first time, hit its targets within the framework of the country's integrated air defense network and successfully discovered and identified the target with a very low radar cross-section precisely.
This was the first presence of the local and strategic Bavar 373 system in an air defense exercise, which had a very successful performance under the control and guidance of the country's integrated air defense network.
Bavar 373 strategic and indigenous system is the first high-altitude air defense system in Iran, which was produced with the cooperation of the country's defense industry experts and the army air defense force, and was unveiled last year.
While congratulating this great success, Spokesman of 'Modafean Aseman Velayat' (The Defenders of Velayat Skies) Military Drill Second Brigadier General Amir Abbas Farajpour said, “Our country's indigenous defense systems have a lot to demonstrate in the world and today we have appeared in this field on a global level. Of course, we have never been satisfied with the current situation and we are always updating and upgrading our systems and equipment to protect and defend the country's sky from enemies’ threats.”
Second Brigadier General Amir Abbas Farajpour further explained that said that the deployment of indigenous defense systems across the country was the reason for the enemies' frustration with the invasion of Iranian airspace.
He stated: "Our enemies know today that in case of an invasion, even a small one, into the airspace of Iran, they will face a lot of fire from the defense systems; So today, even in their movies, they no longer imagine crossing this defensive barrier.”
Iran unveiled Bavar-373 in August 2019. The long-range air defense system is capable of detecting up to 100 targets, tracking 60 of them, and engage with six concurrently.
