Safer, sustainable world is needed: WHO official

Tehran (IP)- Tedross Adhenm, Director-General of WHO, said the world needs a safer and sustainable place, and it can be achieved with regional and global unity and solidarity.

Iran PressEurope: Tedross Adhenm added that WHO is supporting all countries that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic has negatively impacted the world's economy, humanity and all countries must stay alert in all ways. 

Paying a visit to some Mediterranean countries, which has provided them with masks, ventilators, and disinfectant, he noted

WHO is also tracing to make vaccines but till to do so, we must save lives worldwide, added the WHO Director-General. 

He stressed: "One more time I hasten to add that with unity and solidarity all can defeat the virus, else it would be impossible. As the next keynote speaker, Ahmed Al-Mandhari, Regional Director-General, added that many of you have tried to save people's lives impacted by COVID-19.

He highlighted that with togetherness and solidarity, the disease is contained. 

Sharing experience and gained- knowledge is the best strategy to combat the virus because it is novel and strange, Al-Mandhari stated.
