Over 401,000 recover from COVID-19 in Iran: health ministry spox

Tehran (IP) - The Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari said on Friday that so far, 492,378 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 401,379 of the total infected people have recovered.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to October 9, 2020, 4,142 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed, out of whom 1,787 of patients were hospitalized, according to Lari.

She added that in the past 24 hours, 210 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 28,098.

4,392 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

"So far, 4,257,766 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted," the health ministry spokeswoman noted.

She pointed out that Provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal, and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azerbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamadan, and Yazd are regarded as red zones.

According to the Health Ministry Spokeswoman, provinces of Kurdestan, Hormozgan, Fars, and Golestan are on alert.
