Tehran (IP) - In response to the extension of secondary sanctions to the rest of the Iranian banks, the Governor of the Central Bank stated a number of these banks are responsible for transferring resources to purchase medicine and food.

Iran Press/Iran news: Regarding the extension of secondary sanctions to the rest of the Iranian banks, the Governor of Iran's Central Bank stated that a number of these banks are responsible for transferring resources to purchase medicine and food, and the foreign banks that traded with these banks have in fact received the necessary exemptions and licenses to finance the exchange of medicine and food products.

Abdul Nasser Hemmati added: "Although in the past months we were in dire straits to provide medicine and food to the people due to the US maximum pressure, so far, we have not allowed any shortages to be felt in the country.

He said: "From now on, the central bank, along with the private sector, will use all its efforts to provide medicine and basic goods needed by the people in various ways and will not allow more pressure on the people in this area."

Hemmati emphasized that the US move was aimed at US domestic propaganda and political purposes rather than at its economic impact and it shows that the claims of human rights and humanity of the leaders of this country are false and deceptive, and such actions will definitely be recorded in the memory of the Iranian nation.

The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control on Thursday aims to bring the Iranian people to their knees, Amin Investment Bank, Bank Keshavarzi Iran, Bank Maskan, Refah Bank, Shahr Bank, Eghtesad Novin Bank, Resalat Bank, Hekmat Iranian Bank and Iran Zamin Bank are some of those sanctioned by the United States today.

The statement also included the Islamic Regional Cooperation Bank, Karafarin Bank, Middle East Bank, Mehr Iran Institution, Pasargad Bank, Saman Bank, Sarmayeh Bank, Tose'e Ta'avon Bank and Tourism Bank.

This is while in a deceptive move, the United States claimed yesterday that Iran had rejected their offer to help fight Coronavirus.

Trump's administration has imposed the worst economic terrorism against the Iranian people in the last three years.

Also, after failing at the United Nations and the Security Council, Trump is trying to stay in the run-up to the US election, which he sees as unlikely to win by block any path to improve the situation and returning the US to the nuclear deal.
