Tehran (IP) - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said the inauguration of national projects promotes the country’s science and technology sector.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the inauguration of four scientific, technological, and agricultural projects on Thursday, Rouhani expressed that knowledge-based companies have played an essential role in developing science and technology, and the government supports these companies with all its might.

"Today, the number of knowledge-based companies has increased 100 times compared to the last seven years, and it is significant for us that the young and educated generation is in a good place for its activities and excellence in science and knowledge," stated the president.

Referring to the drug and vaccine projects that were inaugurated, Rouhani noted: "Today we inaugurated a project to make a human vaccine, and that gives the country a lot of hope in the supply of medicine and even the export of drugs."

Noting that knowledge-based companies have created the hope that step by step pharmaceutical needs in the country would be met, he said: "The government will do any necessary policy-making and facilitate the activities of these companies."

"Achieving large-scale production of vaccines, especially human vaccines, has been emphasized since the beginning of this government," said Rouhani.

He went on to say that the influenza vaccine will be produced in the coming months, which will be very reassuring for the people.
